Lithuania’s prime minister-designate Mindaugas Sinkevičius has announced his would-be cabinet. Take a look at who is keeping their jobs, as well as the new, wild-card additions that have caused some controversy.

Incumbents

Foreign Ministry: Kęstutis BudrysBudrys retains his position, with Sinkevičius telling reporters on Friday the country needed to maintain course in its foreign policy. The incumbent is a former adviser to the president, with many observers noting that Gitanas Nausėda likely lobbied to keep him in place.

Defence Ministry: Robertas KaunasThe social democrat Robertas Kaunas will continue in his post.

Justice Ministry: Rita TamašunienėThe Farmers and Greens-Christian Families Alliance Group lawmaker stays on in her post, despite several groups petitioning against her re-appointment. Human rights organisations have complained about her efforts to block court rulings that have expanded the righst of same-sex couples, while law enforcement workers’ unions say she is failing to deal with problems in the prison system.
