The fifth and final season of “Power Book III: Raising Kanan” just introduced the young version of a pivotal character in the “Power” lore.
In this week’s episode, Kanan (Mekai Curtis) and Tiana (Asjha Cooper) are discussing the nature of their relationship, when Tiana tells him he doesn’t even know her real name. Naturally, he asks her what it is.
Her real name? Jarita, a.k.a the future mother of Kanan’s son, Shawn, in the mothership series.
With the reveal, Variety has learned that Jarita will continue as a guest star in the final season of “Raising Kanan” before she moves on to a series regular role in the upcoming sequel prequel (or prequel sequel) “Power: Origins.” The latter show is currently in production in New Jersey.
