Constitutional Court Judge Desislava Atanasova has firmly rejected allegations made by Interior Minister Ivan Demerdzhiev that she traveled with DPS leader Delyan Peevski to Dubai in April 2024, insisting she was in Turkey during the entire period in question and providing travel records to back her claim.

Atanasova said she obtained official documentation from the Interior Ministry confirming her movements abroad between April 5 and April 8, 2024. According to the Integrated Information System “Inquiries,” she left Bulgaria on April 5 via Turkish Airlines flight TK 1032 from Sofia to Istanbul and returned on April 8 on TK 1031. “The claim that I traveled with Delyan Peevski from Sofia to Dubai is false,” she stated in her position.

She emphasized that all passport and border-crossing records confirm she remained in Turkey throughout the trip. “On the indicated dates, I was on the Sofia-Istanbul-Sofia route and stayed only on the territory of the Republic of Turkey,” Atanasova said, adding that she is submitting all relevant documents to clarify the matter in her capacity as a constitutional judge.
