Kenyan television continues to gain international recognition after Netflix drama series Kash Money Season 1 won the Best Drama Series (East Africa) award at the 2026 Zanzibar International Film Festival (ZIFF).
The award was announced during the 29th edition of the prestigious festival, one of East Africa's biggest celebrations in film industry, cementing the show's place among the region's most acclaimed productions.
Produced by acclaimed filmmakers Grace Kahaki and Philippe Bresson, Kash Money emerged victorious ahead of other regional productions, earning praise for its compelling storytelling, high production standards, and contribution to the growth of East African television.
The win marks another significant milestone for Kenya's creative industry, which has increasingly attracted global audiences through streaming platforms.
The recognition at ZIFF comes just months after the series enjoyed major success at the 2026 Kalasha International Film and TV Awards, where it was among the biggest winners of the night.
