Devon Peterson Transforming school darts: Devon Petersen announces R12 million investment
South African darts star Devon Petersen has announced a landmark R12 million investment aimed at transforming school darts across South Africa while using the sport as a tool to improve education and life skills among young people.
The initiative is a partnership between the African Dart Group, the International Dart School League (IDSL), and Dart Board Maths.
The first phase of the programme will reach 500 schools nationwide, including 256 schools in the Western Cape, giving thousands of learners access to structured darts programmes that combine education with sport.
Rather than focusing solely on competition, the initiative aims to use darts as a practical educational tool. Through the Dart Board Maths programme, learners will develop numeracy skills, concentration, strategic thinking, discipline and confidence while participating in organised school sport.
