There’s lots to celebrate this weekend, as the country marks the 250th anniversary of the United States with parades, performances, and yes, maybe some politics too.
For shoppers, the Fourth of July weekend also offers up a chance to save a little money online, with Independence Day now known as a major shopping holiday as well. With economic worries continuing to linger in the country, retail analysts say consumers are increasingly searching for deep discounts to combat inflation and tighter budgets. And as gas prices continue to fluctuate, many shoppers are choosing to shop for deals online, rather than taking the car out to the department store or mall.
Fresh off Amazon’s Prime Day event last month, a number of retailers are touting their own deals this weekend on clothing, footwear, electronics and kitchenware. Fourth of July is also known for offering steep discounts on bedding and mattresses, as well as furniture deals.
And while you can’t buy fireworks online — most stores have strict policies prohibiting the shipping of explosive devices — you can score a discount on pretty much everything else this weekend, including rare markdowns on designer goods and brand name sporting equipment.
