Basem Naim, a member of Hamas’s political bureau, has accused Israel of committing thousands of violations of the Gaza ceasefire agreement, citing figures he said cover the period since the truce took effect.

In a statement posted on the social media platform X on Thursday, Naim said Israel had committed 3,503 violations of the ceasefire agreement. According to his figures, these incidents resulted in the deaths of 1,059 Palestinians and injuries to 3,429 others.

Naim also accused Israel of continuing to restrict the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip and limiting the movement of travellers through the Rafah border crossing.

According to the figures he released, the alleged violations included 1,359 shooting incidents, 1,546 shelling incidents, 145 ground incursions, 387 airstrikes, 66 arrests, and 387 house demolitions, averaging 13.3 incidents per day.
