As smartphones have gotten bigger and bigger, you might find yourself wondering if you even need a tablet anymore. With a standard 10-inch tablet, you’re not really getting that much more screen real estate, but that couldn’t be further from the truth with the TCL NXTPAPER 14.It sports a massive 14.3-inch display, and when turned sideways to watch a movie or a TV show, the device feels more like a portable monitor than a tablet. Then in portrait mode, I really felt like I was holding a clipboard in my hand in the best kind of way. What really sets the TCL NXTPAPER 14 apart from the best iPads and other tablets though is its display. With the push of a button on the side, you can switch between three viewing modes: Regular Mode, Color Paper Mode and Ink Paper Mode. With Ink Paper Mode enabled, the NXTPAPER 14 transforms from a standard Android tablet into a black and white slate that offers a reading experience on par with one of the best Kindles but supersized. Doing so also helps save battery life, but with a 10,000 mAh battery under the hood, finding a charger isn’t something you’re going to have to worry about all that often.

You don’t get a screen protector, but I wouldn’t use one with a NXTPAPER device anyways since their matte displays feel great under your fingertips. The stylus recharges via USB-C and attaches to the included case magnetically so you don’t have to worry about misplacing it.Not the only NXTPAPER
