At the disaster site, rescue teams saved 17 residents, including seven people pulled alive from beneath the smoking debris. The President’s Office confirmed that at least four people were killed inside the high-rise alone. Emergency crews, medics and search-and-rescue canine units rushed to the scene immediately after the blast. First responders worked through the night and into the following day, combing through the wreckage of what only hours earlier had been bedrooms, kitchens and family homes.
