The Global Entrepreneurship Network Nigeria has advanced its drive to connect Nigerian startups with investors and new markets across Africa by selecting three entrepreneurs to represent the country at the GEC+ Africa conference in Cape Town, with support from the Bank of Industry.
The organisers concluded the Nigerian leg of the GEC+ Africa Regional Pitch Competition in Lagos, selecting three startups that will represent the country at the GEC+ Africa conference in Cape Town, South Africa, later this year under the theme, ‘Connecting Africa’.
The competition forms part of activities leading to the Global Entrepreneurship Congress Africa and aims to link Nigerian founders with investors, Entrepreneur Support Organisations, policymakers and fellow entrepreneurs across the continent.
Speaking at the event, Managing Director of GEN Nigeria, Dr Olawale Anifowose, said the initiative was designed to help Nigerian entrepreneurs access international opportunities.
“GEN Nigeria, working closely with the Enterprise Development Centre, Bank of Industry, Tripoint Travel, and other ecosystem partners, remains committed to helping Nigerian entrepreneurs access global markets, strategic partnerships, and investment opportunities,” Anifowose said.
