Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are set to celebrate their marriage in a star-studded ceremony at Madison Square Garden on July 3, but sources claim the couple have already reportedly said "I do" in a private ceremonyLauren Martinez Showbiz Reporter and Jamie Roberts Senior Showbiz and TV Reporter22:19, 02 Jul 2026It's a love story — and Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have allegedly already said "I do" despite planning a spectacular event at Madison Square Garden on July 3. The Grammy winner, 36, and the Kansas City Chiefs Tight End, also 36, have been organising a star-studded extravaganza set to take place at New York City's iconic arena, which is said to be closing roads and potentially causing chaos for those travelling through the area over the holiday weekend.‌However, while some of their guests may face travel disruptions that could delay their arrival or even prevent them from attending altogether, they might not be missing the most crucial moment of the couple's big day — as the pair have allegedly already tied the knot legally, meaning the lavish celebration is purely ceremonial.‌A source told Page Six that while the couple are still hosting the major bash for 1,000 guests alongside a Thursday evening rehearsal dinner for 100, a smaller gathering of close loved ones was present when the pair exchanged their vows in private.‌"They are already married," the source insisted, reports the Mirror US. Wedding licences in New York State are sealed, meaning the public would be unable to access such information ahead of the couple's wedding, and staff at Manhattan's City Clerk's office previously told the publication that nobody had signed off on a licence for the pair in recent days. The small ceremony is thought to have potentially taken place in Tennessee, the state Swift made her home at just 14 years old as she embarked on her music career.‌According to a tracking site for Swift's private jet, which shares its findings on Reddit, the aircraft made a series of eyebrow-raising stops in cities where some of her and Kelce's nearest and dearest are based. These included touching down in Tampa, Florida, where her father Scott Swift lives, and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where Kelce's father Ed resides — the same state where his brother Jason and sister-in-law Kylie also live — all on the same day, Sunday, June 28. The jet was subsequently tracked back to Nashville, where it remained until June 30, before heading back to New York City.A private ceremony in Nashville would explain why no licence was filed in New York, as couples are only required to apply for a licence in the city or state where they are legally tying the knot.‌Should the pair have already wed, it could ease some of the nerves and pressure ahead of their big day, for which they have gone to considerable lengths to safeguard their privacy. This has reportedly included keeping even their closest relatives on a "need to know" basis throughout, among them Kelce's mother, Donna Kelce."They actually haven't told Donna very much, she is just going with the flow. They're letting her know where she needs to be and when she needs to be there. They have a driver for her," a source previously shared the the Daily Mail.Article continues below"That's how it is with everybody, even the people really close to them. When they get to where they need to be, they're told where they're going next," the source continued."So she doesn't really know a lot about the plans, because she hasn't been told. I think that's their way of making sure that things aren't leaked. Everyone is on a 'need to know' basis."Like this story?
