Candace Owens ignites Charlie Kirk death controversy, says Nick Fuentes seemed more ‘impassioned’ than Erika Kirk (Image via Getty)Candace Owens has once again taken aim at Erika Kirk while speaking about the death of Charlie Kirk. During her appearance on the Shawn Ryan Show, which was released early for Patreon and Spotify subscribers on July 1, Owens questioned how Charlie Kirk’s widow responded after his killing. She argued that far-right commentator Nick Fuentes appeared more emotional about the tragedy than Erika Kirk. The comments are the latest in a long-running public dispute between Owens and Erika, with Owens continuing to raise questions about Erika’s behavior in the weeks and months following her husband’s death. Candace Owens compares Erika Kirk’s reaction to Nick Fuentes’ responseWhile speaking with Shawn Ryan, Owens discussed Charlie Kirk’s death and the reactions that followed. She pointed to Nick Fuentes, who has often been described as one of Charlie Kirk’s political rivals, and claimed that his response felt more heartfelt than Erika Kirk’s.Owens said:“Who would you say is his arch-nemesis? Nick Fuentes? He delivered a more impassioned response to what happened to Charlie than Charlie’s wife did. Even your worst enemy!”The controversial remarks are not new because Owens and Erika Kirk have been publicly at odds for months. Owens has repeatedly criticized Erika’s public appearances and statements since Charlie Kirk’s death, while Erika has pushed back against conspiracy theories and accusations surrounding the case. Owens has previously argued that she expected Erika to show more visible grief. At the same time, she has acknowledged that people process loss in different ways. Her latest comments suggest she still believes Erika’s public reaction did not match the seriousness of what happened to her husband. Candace Owens revisits leaked call and repeats criticism of Erika KirkThe Shawn Ryan interview is not the first time Owens has raised this issue. Earlier this year, she shared audio from a call that reportedly took place less than two weeks after Charlie Kirk’s death. In that recording, Erika Kirk could be heard speaking with members of her team and encouraging them to move forward despite the tragedy. At one point, Erika said: “My husband’s dead. Like, I’m not trying to be morbid, but he’s dead. And it puts life into perspective.”Owens later said the overall tone of the conversation bothered her. She specifically pointed to moments of laughter and discussions about business matters, including metrics and merchandise sales, saying she found them difficult to understand so soon after Charlie Kirk’s death. More recently, Owens also described Erika as an “emotional asset” during an episode of her own show. She argued that public sympathy often increases whenever Erika becomes emotional in interviews or appearances. Owens said:“Erika really just being what she was described as in that Department of War executive office email. She’s just a quote-unquote emotional asset that keeps getting boosted every time she gets emotional. Her job is to cry and then for us to be scolded that it’s our fault that she’s crying.”Owens added that she knew both Charlie and Erika personally and claimed she understood the reasons behind Erika’s emotional public moments. Erika Kirk has continued to reject allegations and conspiracy theories connected to her husband’s death.
