The S&P 500 reversed earlier gains to trade 0.3 per cent lower at 2.30pm in New York, dragged down by losses in information technology and communication services.Sandisk, KLA, Lam Research, Marvell Technology, Applied Materials, Seagate Technology and Western Digital each fell more than 15 per cent as investors accelerated their exit from some of the last quarter’s highest flyers. A key semiconductor index shed more than 6 per cent.Seven of the S&P 500’s industry sectors were higher, paced by health care and consumer staples.The Dow Jones advanced 0.7 per cent, bolstered by a more than 4 per cent rise in Apple.
