Henry Pollock will be part of a six-two replacement bench when England face the Springboks at Ellis Park on Saturday in the Nations Championship.

England head coach Steve Borthwick believes the energy that Henry Pollock and several other impact players can bring off the bench could provide the spark his side needs when they face the Springboks in Saturday’s Nations Championship Test at Ellis Park in Johannesburg (5.40pm kick-off).

Borthwick resisted the temptation to hand the young loose forward a starting berth, instead opting for an experienced loose trio to lay the platform before unleashing Pollock’s dynamism later in the contest.

The English have named a seasoned side to take on the world champions, while welcoming back fullback George Furbank, winger Immanuel Feyi-Waboso and lock George Martin from injury to bolster the matchday squad. Fin Smith gets the nod at flyhalf, with Marcus Smith set to provide cover and attacking spark from the replacements bench.

“I am so delighted to welcome several players back into the Test side,” Borthwick said on Thursday.
