Digital payments can play a critical role in improving tax administration, revenue collection and public service delivery, eTranzact Plc has said.
The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of eTranzact, Niyi Toluwalope, stated this at the Nigeria Employers’ Summit 2026, organised by the Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association in Abuja, according to a statement issued by the company on Thursday.
Toluwalope, represented by the Executive Director and Group Head, Public Sector Division, Mr Abubakar Achimugu, said digital payments had evolved beyond facilitating financial transactions to becoming an essential driver of economic growth and accountability.
The statement read, “He said digital payments have evolved beyond simply moving money to becoming an important part of the economy by improving transparency, strengthening revenue collection, enhancing tax administration and supporting better public service delivery.”
Speaking on the role of technology in national development, he said governments across the world were investing in Digital Public Infrastructure as the foundation for efficient modern economies.
