Liverpool are rebuilding their coaching staff Steve Bardens via Getty ImagesJuly 2, 2026 9:05 am EDT Updated Tommy Elphick and Shaun Cooper have joined Liverpool as first-team coaches, with the pair reuniting with Andoni Iraola as part of his backroom staff.Pablo de la Torre also arrives as an assistant coach and Tom Webber has been appointed as first-team tactical analyst.All four have moved to Anfield after previously working with Iraola at Bournemouth, who finished sixth in the Premier League last season.Liverpool are rebuilding their coaching team after sacking Arne Slot in May following a disappointing campaign on the back of the 2024-25 title-winning season.Slot’s assistants Giovanni Van Bronkhorst and Sipke Hulshoff have since joined Feyenoord while Ruben Peeters also left his position as head of physical performance.Iraola’s task this season is to repair some of the damage left behind and fire Liverpool into title contention once again. He’s turned to his tried and trusted assistants following the success at Bournemouth between 2023 and 2026 and will be hoping they can find the magic formula on Merseyside.A number of clubs in the Football League were looking at Elphick as a potential head coach this summer but he has chosen to stick alongside Iraola.
