Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, the UAE's third-largest lender by assets, experienced a service disruption due to "essential system maintenance".

All banking services were temporarily impacted, though some systems began coming back online by 3.30pm UAE time.

The bank did not disclose the nature of the maintenance work or provide a timeline for full service restoration.

This marks the second major disruption for the lender, following a 48-hour outage in March caused by a region-wide IT breakdown.
