The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 FE is Samsung’s cheaper Fan Edition version of the flagship Z Flip7 foldable. Closed, the phone is a compact clamshell that fits in a jacket pocket or small purse. Opened, it’s a full 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display. The 3.4-inch cover screen on the outside shows notifications, previews the camera, and lets you send quick messages without opening the phone. An affordable Flip7 foldable that’s perfect for replacing your old smartphone
The clamshell foldable format takes a full smartphone display and cuts it in half through a hinge in the middle. Folding the Flip7 FE closed puts a 6.7-inch phone into a pocketable body about the size of a stack of playing cards. Opening the phone reveals the full display, with no gap or thick bezel down the middle. The 3.4-inch cover screen on the outside also supports quick actions like reading text messages, controlling music, or checking the weather without opening the phone.
The Flip7 FE has two rear cameras: a 50MP main lens and a 12MP ultrawide. The clever part is the FlexWindow on the outside of the phone. Flip it closed halfway, and the cover screen shows a live preview of what the rear camera sees, so you can take selfies with the sharper 50MP lens instead of the front camera. Skin tones and exposure come out cleaner as a result. Low-light shots run through Samsung’s Nightography processing to pull detail out of the shadows without turning everything grainy.
