Responding to criticism from regime insiders over his announcement regarding the allocation of 20 million barrels of oil to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Masoud Pezeshkian stated on Wednesday, July 1, that if a similar situation arises again, he is prepared to place 100 million barrels of oil at the force’s disposal.
Expressing his gratitude to the military, security, and law enforcement forces, the Basij, and other security apparatuses, Pezeshkian asserted that the government’s primary concern in the current environment is “supporting the people alongside the country’s military and security forces.”
Addressing criticism that publicizing the allocation of 20 million barrels of oil to the IRGC Aerospace Force amounted to leaking internal information, the president countered that if the same circumstances presented themselves again, “I will provide them with not just 20 million barrels, but 100 million barrels, and I am proud of this support.” He added that he considers defending the armed forces to be his duty and emphasized that he will support them with all his power.
Pezeshkian also responded to criticism regarding the government’s handling of international negotiations, stating that the administration strictly follows the directives of Ali Khamenei. He emphasized that if the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic had ordered that no meetings or negotiations take place, “no meeting would have been convened, and no negotiation would have occurred.”
