On Wednesday, President Lee Jae Myung and former President Moon Jae-in met for the first time since Lee took office, sitting down for a luncheon aimed at promoting unity and harmony. The two men met for about two hours, discussing public affairs while taking a stroll and enjoying their lunch of bibimbap, a symbol of concord. “They say that a president’s health belongs to the public, not just the individual,” Moon told Lee. “I hope you take care of yourself a bit more.”Lee responded by saying apologizing for causing Moon concerns about his health while likening the former president to an elder family member. Lee greeted Moon at the Blue House’s garden, waiting as his predecessor arrived before shaking his hand and pulling him into an embrace.“You’ve certainly been hard at work. How’s your health holding up?” Moon asked after thanking Lee for the invitation to the Blue House. “I’m still young,” Lee said in response. “I hope you’re staying healthy.”Lee went on to ask about Moon’s farm. Moon said that he kept busy with farming, his work at his book shop, and had taken to hiking in the hills near his home. The presidential office said that the two men’s menu consisted of dishes that signified unity and harmony.
