China and the United States have set guiding objectives for expanding two-way agricultural trade and agreed in principle to include relevant agricultural products under a reciprocal tariff reduction framework following their recent economic and trade consultations, the Ministry of Commerce said on Thursday.

Speaking at a weekly news briefing in Beijing, Ministry Spokesman He Yadong said agricultural trade is an integral part of China-US economic and trade cooperation.

Companies will make trading decisions based on market principles, actual demand, and market conditions. China is willing to work with the US to create favorable conditions for expanding two-way agricultural trade, he added.
