President Donald Trump on Wednesday used a word most people don’t expect to hear from their leader: Threesome. The odd moment came during a speech in which he mused about giving the Congressional Medal of Honor to himself and two of his sons who were in attendance: Don Jr. and Eric. “I’m going to give one to myself, one to them, and we’ll have a threesome, OK?” he joked. “I’ll give them the Congressional Medal of Honor for something ― for their genius at hunting ― and I’ll get one for taking on Russia, Russia, Russia or something.” The Medal of Honor is the nation’s highest military award for valor, given to those who “distinguish themselves conspicuously by gallantry and intrepidity, risking loss of life above and beyond the call of duty.”Trump has not served in the military, nor have his sons. Trump suggested he and his sons could become the first “threesome” with the award.“No, I’m only kidding,” he said. “But I have seriously thought about, now this is dangerous to say, because the fake news is up there all over the place and when I joke I always I learned early on, don’t be sarcastic in politics.” He added that he is “doing it with a chuckle” but that it was “very dangerous to say” because of how the media will cover it.Joking or not, Trump has repeatedly mused about giving himself the honor despite the fact that he avoided military service, receiving five deferments during the Vietnam War: four for college and one for bone spurs in his heels. In this case, however, Trump’s comments went viral for one word alone: threesome. The president’s critics were horrified: Going into the holiday weekend with the image of the President having sex with his sons while they’re all wearing medals in my mind… https://t.co/rLP02ZcX9y— Shannon Watts (@shannonrwatts) July 1, 2026RelatedDonald Trumpdonald trump jreric trump theodore roosevelt
