The Amaravati Growth and Infrastructure Corporation Limited (AGICL) has invited applications to empanel architectural firms for providing comprehensive architectural consultancy services for a wide range of capital city projects, laying the foundation for the planning and execution of major government and public infrastructure over the next three years. The Request for Empanelment (RFE), issued on AP e-procurement on June 3 and ending on July 3, is part of AGICL’s strategy to create a panel of qualified firms that will compete for project-specific assignments through a two-stage selection process. The document states that Amaravati is being developed as a world-class capital city, with nearly 100 infrastructure projects worth over ₹56,000 crore already under implementation.AGICL, established as a Special Purpose Vehicle in 2025-26, is responsible for delivering iconic projects including the Assembly, Secretariat Towers, High Court, Judicial Academy, residences for constitutional functionaries, legislators and officers, besides city-scale developments such as the 27-km Krishna riverfront, 680-acre Central Park, Quantum Valley, Sports City, convention centres, an iconic bridge, Telugu Cultural Centre and other landmark infrastructure. The empanelled firms will provide end-to-end architectural services covering schematic design, design development, construction documentation, tender documentation, bid support and construction administration. Their responsibilities will include preparation of concept plans, master plans, detailed architectural and structural designs, MEPF drawings, BIM models, sustainability studies, geotechnical investigations, cost estimates, bills of quantities, statutory approvals, Good for Construction (GFC) drawings and as-built documentation. The RFE also mandates compliance with the National Building Code, AP building regulations, accessibility standards, green building norms and Building Information Modelling protocols.Architectural firms with at least 10 years of professional practice, valid Council of Architecture registration and relevant experience across residential, institutional, commercial, healthcare, sports, public and heritage projects are eligible to apply. The empanelment is divided into four categories based on project value, ranging from projects below ₹25 crore to those exceeding ₹500 crore, with minimum annual turnover requirements between ₹25 lakh and ₹5 crore. While the RFE does not specify an overall project budget, it fixes consultancy fees linked to project value, ranging from 1% of the estimated construction value for projects below ₹25 crore to 0.65% for projects exceeding ₹500 crore, excluding GST. The empanelment will remain valid for three years, extendable by one more year, with individual assignments awarded through technical evaluation and presentations by empanelled firms.
