President Donald Trump said Wednesday that triple-digit temperatures won’t shorten his Independence Day address on the National Mall, joking that he will deliver a “really long” speech.“By the way, on July Fourth, it’s going to be approximately 107 degrees out, and I’m going to go, and I’m going to make a really long speech just to show that I can do anything,” Trump said, speaking during ceremonies for the opening of Theodore Roosevelt’s new presidential library in North Dakota. The nation’s capital is preparing for a full day of celebrations Saturday, commemorating the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. At the same time, Washington is expecting temperatures to reach near 101 degrees on July 4, according to the National Weather Service. Heat warnings have also been issued on Thursday and Friday leading into the holiday weekend.

The president is slated to speak at 9:45 p.m., followed by what has been billed as a record-breaking fireworks show at 10:30 p.m.
