Gov. Ron DeSantis announced Wednesday that Florida will move to designate several domestic and foreign organisations as terrorist groups under a new state law that took effect July 1, saying the state will not allow public funds to support organisations tied to terrorism. DeSantis said his administration will ask the Florida Cabinet to ratify the first round of designations under HB 1471, which created a formal process for identifying terrorist organisations under state law. The initial list includes the Muslim Brotherhood, the Council on American-Islamic Relations, or CAIR, Antifa, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran and several transnational criminal organizations, including the Sinaloa Cartel and Tren de Aragua.
