Major General G Srinivas assumed the appointment of General Officer Commanding (GOC), Telangana & Andhra Sub Area (TASA) on Wednesday.

Major General G. Srinivas on Wednesday assumed command as the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Telangana and Andhra Sub Area (TASA).Upon taking charge, the General Officer paid tributes to fallen soldiers by laying a wreath at the War Memorial in a solemn ceremony.An alumnus of Sainik School, Korukonda, the National Defence Academy (NDA), Khadakwasla, and the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun, Maj. Gen. Srinivas was commissioned into the Regiment of Artillery in 1990.Over a career spanning 35 years, the officer has held several key command, staff, and instructional positions. His prominent assignments include a stint with the United Nations peacekeeping mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo, serving in the Military Secretary Branch, commanding a brigade in a strike formation, and working as the Chief Instructor at the School of Artillery.As the Major General of Operational Logistics for a command on the Western Front, he played a crucial role in ensuring operational readiness during ‘Operation Sindoor’. In his previous tenure, he served as the Commandant of the College of Defence Management (CDM) in Secunderabad, where he supervised the Higher Defence Management Course.Maj. Gen. Srinivas is a graduate of the National Defence College and holds M.Phil. degrees in Defence and Security Studies as well as Management Studies.As the GOC of TASA, he will serve as the Local Military Authority for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. His responsibilities will include overseeing military administration, infrastructure development, the welfare of veterans, and strengthening civil-military coordination across both States.
