Two people were arrested after they climbed onto the antenna of the Empire State Building on Wednesday, revealing at the top a flag that read “When the power of love beats the love of power, the world knows peace.”The New York Police Department told HuffPost in a statement that the two individuals were taken into custody without incident and there were no reported injuries. The investigation remains ongoing and charges are pending. An Empire State Building spokesperson said in a comment to HuffPost that the “unauthorized incident” has been resolved. “There was at no time danger to tenants, visitors, and Empire State Building Observation Deck guests,” the spokesperson said. “It is to be emphasized that the Empire State Building Observation Deck, atop the World’s Most Famous Building in the center of New York City, does offer a practical way for the most memorable marriage proposals.”Two people stand on the tip of the antenna of the Empire State Building while holding a banner on Wednesday, July 1.
