The FDA approved an allogeneic regulatory T cell-based immunotherapy product with hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells (HSPCs) and T cells (Tregzi) to prevent serious complications of stem cell transplants for hematologic malignancies.
Dubbed Orca-T in development, the personalized cell therapy is indicated for use in matched-donor hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) with a myeloablative preparative regimen, for hematopoietic and immunologic reconstitution, and to improve chronic graft-versus-host disease (GVHD)-free survival.
