Emilee Chinn / Getty ImagesJuly 1, 2026 12:44 pm EDT Updated The Philadelphia Flyers have signed forward Tyson Foerster to an eight-year, $56.8 million contract extension, the team announced on Wednesday.The 24-year-old Foerster, drafted by the Flyers in the first round (No. 23) in 2020, has 100 points (61 goals, 39 assists) in 195 career games over parts of four seasons. Foerster missed the majority of the 2025-26 season with an upper-body injury that limited him to 29 games. He totaled 13 goals and four assists. He struggled in the playoffs, with just one point (a goal) in 10 games.Foerster, who is set to enter the second of a two-year, $3.75 AAV bridge deal he signed last year, has become a core piece for his offense and his two-way play. He looked to be on the verge of a breakout campaign this past season with 10 goals in his first 21 games before suffering an injury on Dec. 1 that kept him out for approximately four months.
