NewsUK NewsWest Midlands PolicePolice are appealing for information after a woman in her 20s was knocked over by a silver hatchback in Birmingham with driver failing to stop16:57, 01 Jul 2026Updated 17:02, 01 Jul 2026Birmingham: Woman knocked down by hit-and-run driverA woman in her 20s has been rushed to hospital after being hit by a car which failed to stop in Birmingham.‌The pedestrian can be seen crossing Foxton Road, Alum Rock, when she was struck by a silver hatchback and sent over the bonnet and onto the roadway at around 1.30pm on Monday afternoon.‌The car appears to have not noticed her as it failed to slow down before hitting her and then afterwards the driver leaves without checking on her safety.‌Other people rushed to the aid of the woman who was left badly injured.Emergency services were called to the scene and she was treated at the scene for serious injuries and taken to Heartlands Hospital.‌An ambulance spokeswoman said: "We were called to reports of an RTC on Foxton Road in Birmingham at around 1.30pm on Monday and sent an ambulance to the scene."On arrival, crews found a car and a pedestrian had been involved in a collision. The pedestrian, a woman, was treated for potentially serious injuries and conveyed to Heartlands Hospital."West Midlands Police says that an investigation is now underway to identify the driver and it has appealed for anyone with with information to get in touch, reported BirminghamLive.‌A statement from the force read: "We were called after a woman was struck by a car in Foxton Road, Birmingham, at just before 1.30pm on Monday (29 June). Officers attended and the woman in her 20s was treated by ambulance staff for injuries which are understood not to be life-changing."The car involved, believed to be a silver hatchback failed to stop and enquiries are underway to identify and trace the vehicle and driver.
