New Delhi, Airtel Money, the NBFC arm of Bharti Airtel, has commenced commercial operations following the grant of a licence from the Reserve Bank of India.Airtel Money has a valid Certificate of Registration dated February 13, 2026, issued by the RBI under section 45 IA of the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934, Bharti Airtel said in a regulatory filing on Wednesday.Airtel Money has commenced its commercial operations as a Type II Non-Deposit accepting Non-Banking Financial Company pursuant to its Certificate of Registration, issued by the RBI, it said."However, the Reserve Bank of India does not accept any responsibility or guarantee about the present position as to the financial soundness of the company or for the correctness of any of the statements or representations made or opinions expressed by the company and for the repayment of deposits/discharge of liabilities by the company," the filing, citing the certificate, said.Bharti Airtel in February had announced plans for its NBFC and said the subsidiary will be capitalised with Rs 20,000 crore over the next few years.Airtel will contribute 70 per cent with the promoter group via Bharti Enterprises bringing in the balance 30 per cent, it had said.
