David Berding / Getty ImagesJuly 1, 2026 Updated 11:18 am EDTThe Dallas Stars have traded forward Mavrik Bourque and defenseman Ilya Lyubushkin to the Nashville Predators, the teams announced Wednesday.In return, the Stars received Nashville’s second-round pick in 2027 and a 2028 third-rounder via the Vegas Golden Knights.Bourque was the No. 30 pick to Dallas in the 2020 NHL Draft and logged 156 games over two full seasons with the team, notching career highs with 20 goals and 41 points across 82 games in 2025-26. He added one goal in six playoff games. Previously, the Quebec native was an AHL MVP during the 2023-24 season with the Texas Stars.The 24-year-old Bourque was due to be a restricted free agent with arbitration rights, coming off a one-year, $950,000 contract. Once considered an offer sheet candidate, Bourque is expected to sign an extension with the Predators, league sources told The Athletic’s Chris Johnston, speaking on condition of anonymity because the deal has not been completed.This story will be updated.
