Karnataka Commissioner for Hindu Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowments (Muzrai) Department B Sharath said the ₹604-crore development works, including construction of 1,000 rooms for devotees and staff quarters, among others, at temple town Kukke Subrahmanya will be launched very soon.Speaking after a review meeting of works with the temple managing committee during his visit to Kukke Subrahmanya on Monday (June 29) Mr. Sharath said he would soon convene the meeting of the Master Plan Committee to accelerate development works. The government had recently sanctioned various development works at the famed Naga Kshetra.He said steps would be taken to start the construction of the temple’s perimeter wall, dormitory, and the 1,000 rooms, adding that the work would be completed quickly.DemandsThe managing committee appraised the Commissioner of certain pressing needs at the kshetra, including construction of Ashleshabali Mantapa, Suttupauli, staff quarters, enhancement of salary to Sarpa Samskara archakas, appointment of new staff, and so on. The Commissioner promised to take action soon. Mr. Sharath also responded positively with regard to the development of educational institutions of the temple, staff salaries, and more facilities needed for students.Managing committee president Harish S.
