The AMD Ryzen 5 7600X is a 6-core, 12-thread Zen 4 CPU that runs at a 4.7 GHz base and 5.3 GHz boost clock and has plenty of grunt for today’s games and other PC activities. We reviewed this chip at launch and, at the time, dubbed it “...the fastest gaming chip on the market for $300.”
As you can see from the CPU benchmarks below, it held its own in the gaming tests, beating most Intel chips of the time. Its relatively tame TDP (105/142W) also makes it easier to cool than some of the other chips up the product stack.
