Transactions through the popular Unified Payments Interface (UPI) moderated from a record high to Rs 28.9 lakh crore in June, according to data released by the National Payments Corporation of India.
UPI transactions touched a record high of Rs 29.9 lakh crore in May 2026.
As per the data released on Wednesday, UPI transactions in volume terms were 22.72 billion in June, down from 23.2 billion the previous month.
The value of transactions was Rs 28.9 lakh crore in June, up from Rs 24.03 lakh crore in the same month a year ago, registering 20 per cent annual growth.
The volume of UPI transactions was 18.3 billion in June 2025.
