The wrestling legend turned actor, 49, took to social media this week to announce that he had undergone the second part of his follicular unit extraction (FUE) hair transplant procedure.‌The 17-time world champion underwent his first hair transplant in November 2024, following years of attempts to conceal his hair loss. At the time, he said he'd become self-conscious after his appearance was continually mocked by wrestling fans.‌But now John has posed alongside the cosmetic surgeon who gave him his new look. The star told his online followers that he had gone "all in" and was hoping to achieve the "best results".‌Posing alongside FUE technique pioneer Ken Anderson, Cena said: "Round 2 of FUE Treatment and this time I went all in for the best possible results. Thank you @KenAndersonMD and the staff at Anderson Center for Hair for accompanying me on this journey!"Ken responded to Cena's post, saying: "Always great seeing you, my friend. Your commitment to the process and long-term hair health has made all the difference. I'm grateful for the trust you've placed in me and my team, and honored to continue being part of your journey."‌Fans of Cena were quick to praise the actor for being open about undergoing the procedure, with one writing: "Nice that Cena is open about this, good to normalise. I hope every man who needs hair gets the help they need!""Cool that actors are finally being honest about this stuff," said a second. Meanwhile, a third went on to type: "Nah, John Cena really said 'If you want something done right, go all in' and lived it. Absolute legend for committing to the process like this!"Speaking last year, John opened up about the "straight-up bullying" he had endured from WWE fans over his appearance. He said on The Pat McAfee show: "You chant, and you make me feel small, and you embarrass me… Y'all don't know what that's like.‌"That is straight-up bullying. That's just not cool. I don't like it." He added: "So, thank you for bullying me into getting surgical hair replacement. That's how far y'all push me."John explained that his hair loss was due to a "genetic condition" which was out of his control. In a previous interview, Cena stated that age played a part in his hair loss.Reflecting on signs he saw fans holding at events, he told People magazine: "I saw their signs that said ''The bald John Cena.' They pushed me into going to see what my options were.Article continues below"I now have a routine: red-light therapy, minoxidil, vitamins, shampoo, conditioner — and I also got a hair transplant last November. I hate the fact that if there wasn’t so much shame around it, I'd have gotten it done 10 years ago. I thought I was alone, but seven or eight out of 10 [men] suffer from thinning or baldness."A FUE hair transplant moves follicles from the back of the scalp, known as the donor area, to the balding or thinning areas, known as the recipient area. Because the relocated hair is resistant to hair loss, it will start to grow normally.Like this story?
