Believing that an international master's degree would create better career opportunities, they resigned from their job and spent the next two years studying overseas. Despite maintaining strong academic performance and completing an internship, they were unable to secure employment after finishing the course. The developer further explained that the hiring landscape had changed dramatically since the boom years of 2022 and 2023. They revealed that despite submitting hundreds of applications, they received interview opportunities from only two or three companies, largely because of strong professional referrals. Expecting salary packages in the range of ₹40 lakh to ₹50 lakh based on the compensation trends seen during the earlier hiring boom, they were disappointed to find that employers were offering around ₹25 lakh per year instead.Reddit users advised him to be realistic about his job prospects and accept decent paying jobs that comes his way. “Similar story. I started again at 22 LPA last year. Planning to switch by the end of this year," said one user while another added: "You are getting a job at Rs 25 LPA? Take it. Why are you complaining?" said one user. Another commented: “Take any reasonable offer that comes your way. Don't be too picky. Job role has also changed a lot…”
