Government employees deputed as enumerators for Census 2027 carrying out door-to-door enumeration in Kochi on Wednesday.

Enumerators have kicked off house-to-house visits for the Houselisting and Housing phase of Census 2027 in Kerala on Wednesday (July 1, 2026).More than 61,000 enumerators, mostly teachers and other government employees, have been deployed for the exercise. The State has been divided into houselisting blocks for data collection.The enumerators are using a mobile app for data collection and the entire operation will be managed through a dedicated web portal, the Census Management and Monitoring System.In Kerala, there are 682 Census towns and 758 villages. There are about 58,619 houselisting blocks in the State.
