The company managed to restore Mythos access for select US organisations late last week.
The US government reversed its export ban on Anthropic’s Mythos 5 and Fable 5 AI models, ending a more than two week blockade that sent shockwaves across the world.
“We’ve received notice that the Department of Commerce has lifted export controls on Claude Fable 5 and Mythos 5,” Anthropic said early today (1 July). Restrictions were lifted late yesterday (30 June).
The company managed to get the export ban on Mythos partially lifted late last week after placing “appropriate safeguards”, according to US Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick.
Lutnick, today, said that the government worked closely with Anthropic to “analyse and approve Fable 5 to ensure alignment across the US government and strengthen America’s leadership in AI”.
