“A day after a house collapsed in Mumbai’s Chembur, a 51-year-old man died,” officials of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said on Wednesday (July 1, 2026).The deceased was identified as Santosh Ramchandra Bharaskar, who worked at a nearby petrol pump. He sustained injuries in the collapse and was rushed to Sir J.J. Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.The collapse occurred late on Tuesday night (June 30, 2026) at Surya Prakash Building, Babulnath Road, Walkeshwar in Mumbai.According to the BMC, a portion of the third-floor balcony of a G+3 MHADA cessed building collapsed. This is the second fatal incident reported as the monsoon intensified in Mumbai.
