A heartwarming photograph captured by a hobbyist photographer in Maine has taken social media by storm, shining a spotlight on the incredible resilience of local wildlife.
The viral image features a beloved, three-legged doe nicknamed "Tripod" alongside three young fawns she has taken under her wing, capturing the hearts of hundreds of thousands of viewers worldwide.
“I knew people were going to like it,” Decatur, 42, told The Washington Post. “But not to this extent.”
In her Facebook post, Decatur wrote that her neighbors have been looking out for the doe since she was injured and called Tripod “a shining example of survival and love.”
