The Ukrainian Center in Pärnu (Estonia) hosted a large-scale volunteer, cultural, and educational event that brought together local residents, Estonian volunteers, and representatives of the Ukrainian diaspora from the cities of Pärnu and Valga. The main goal of the gathering was to make lighting equipment for Ukrainian defenders.

According to Ukrinform, this information is posted on the Facebook page of the Ukrainian Center in Pärnu.

Working together, the adult participants made trench candles, which are indispensable in field conditions on the front lines: they help soldiers stay warm, heat food, boil water, or light up dugouts.

Special guests at the event included representatives of the Ukrainian community “Kalyna” from Valga, led by its director Ruslana Dovga. Such horizontal ties between diaspora communities make it possible to coordinate volunteer aid and find new ideas for joint charitable projects in Estonia.
