A beautiful white cat called Fluffy left his owners distraught after disappearing from their mansion... only to reappear in the unlikeliest of places. The kitty vanished for 30 hours during renovation work at Melissa and Ed Kirby's gorgeous $2.9 million home in Needham, Massachusetts, last week.Melissa said she feared Fluffy had sneaked out a door left open by builders.She and Ed raced to their local Staples store to print out 'Missing' posters in the hopes of bringing Fluffy home. The cat lovers even hired a pet retrieval specialist with a German shepherd in the hopes of finding Fluffy, without success.Melissa feared she'd never see her stunning pet again - until she heard a faint 'mew' coming from a newly-remodeled upstairs bathroom. 'I thought at that point I was hallucinating,' Melissa said. A cuddly white cat named Fluffy was missing for 30 hours until his owners discovered he was trapped under their recently installed bathtub Melissa Kirby, Fluffy's owner, said the cat was hiding in a hole under the tub and was sealed in mistakenly by plumbersThe cat mom told the outlet that Fluffy had been hiding in a small hole while a new bathtub was being installed.A plumber unwittingly completed the job, leaving Fluffy trapped underneath.There was just enough space for the distressed kitty to stick his paw out through a hole to signal desperately for help. The Kirbys immediately called the plumber, who arrived 45 minutes later and helped the cat emerge unharmed.Following the incident, the family placed an Apple AirTag tracking device on Fluffy to make him easier to track down should he attempt any further adventures. They said he appears unscathed by his ordeal. Several Instagram users shared similar stories about their pets getting stuck after contractors mistakenly sealed them in.'My cat did the same thing while we were having our tub repaired,' one user wrote. 'The contractors had sealed him in with the marble slab. We were hearing him meowing in the walls all over the house. (We got him out fine.)''This happened to me too,' another added. 'Contractors were remodeling the bathroom and sealed her up in the wall.' Melissa said she was crying upstairs and thought she was hallucinating when she heard the cat meowing from the floor of her $2.9million home'There was heavy snow and we spent hours searching the neighborhood. We thought she was dead. Three days later we heard her in the wall. We did not, however, think it was newsworthy.''Happens all the time,' a third said. 'I had a family whose cat was in the ceiling, and then the contractors got mad at us for cutting open the ceiling with the fire department to save the cat.'
