Sowore's remarks came shortly after the court restored his bail while setting fresh conditions he must fulfil before he can continue to enjoy his freedom pending the conclusion of his trial.
Fiery human rights activist and presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has remained defiant despite the stringent bail conditions imposed on him by the Federal High Court in Abuja on Tuesday, insisting that the terms would not weaken his resolve or the movement he leads.
Addressing journalists and supporters shortly after the court proceedings, Sowore said the President Bola Tinubu-led Nigerian government had always been interested in seizing his international passport but insisted that doing so would not stop the movement he represents or "an idea whose time has come."
"There is no force on earth that can stop this revolution. We have warned them but they will not listen."
"I was granted a strange bail, requiring a traditional ruler and somebody with property in Abuja. N200 million and my international passport. They have always been after the passport but nobody can come after our Movement. Nobody can stop the movement, nobody can stop an idea whose time has come."
