The position of the Army was contained in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Army Public Relations Officer, Depot Nigerian Army, Osogbo, Major Yahaya Ibrahim.
The Nigerian Army has ordered an investigation into allegations of harassment, intimidation and assault levelled against some of its personnel by the Southwest Zone of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), assuring that any officer found culpable would face the full weight of military law.
The Army also appealed for calm over the incident, insisting that it remained committed to protecting the rights and safety of all Nigerians, particularly students, while the investigation is being conducted.
