The price of diesel and kerosene has dropped significantly, while petrol climbed by a sene for July. The new fuel prices come into effect on 1 July.
Petrol increased by 1.7 sene per litre, from $3.99 to $4.00. Diesel decreased by 82.3 sene per litre, from $5.31 to $4.48. Kerosene decreased by 100.1 sene per litre, from $5.02 to $4.02.
According to the Ministry of Finance, July retail prices are based on cargo loaded in May and delivered to Samoa in June 2026.
“The price decreases for both diesel and kerosene reflect the removal of the significant premium that traders and consumers paid for these refined products in April. Petrol prices did not include these premiums and therefore remain at April levels,” said Minister for Finance Mulipola Anarosa Ale-Molioo.
“The Memorandum of Understanding between the United States and Iran, signed on 18 June, lays out the conditions for reopening the Strait of Hormuz while calling for an immediate end to hostilities, including in Lebanon. The United States and Iran will negotiate for 60 days to bring a final end to the war.
