GEM Hospital on Tuesday launched ‘Operation Infinity’, a robotic surgery network connecting its Chennai and Coimbatore centres to enable real-time collaboration during surgeries.The hospital said the network allows surgeons at both centres to share diagnostic feeds, provide live guidance and perform procedures through dual-console robotic systems. It also supports emergency surgical assistance and tele-mentoring for training.The system includes artificial intelligence (AI)-based tools for pre-operative planning, surgical navigation, identification of cancer tissue, risk analysis and prediction of complications during surgery.C. Palanivelu, chairman of GEM Hospital, said the network would help provide specialist surgical care across locations through robotics, AI and digital connectivity.Chief Executive Officer and Joint Managing Director P.
