Two Nigerian students, Akota-Chika Serena and Tolulope Israel Adekimi of Caleb-British International School (CBIS), Magodo and Lekki, Lagos, have made the country proud after emerging as the world’s top performers in English Language and Mathematics respectively in the 2025 International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) Examinations conducted by the Cambridge International Examination Council.
Akota-Chika clinched the Outstanding Cambridge Learners Award for her exceptional performance in IGCSE English as a Second Language (Speaking Endorsement), while Adekimi was honoured with the same award for his outstanding results in Mathematics.
Reacting to their achievement, both students credited the combined efforts of CBIS’s academic and non-academic staff, who they said remained committed not just to their educational growth and well-being, but also to producing quality manpower for national development.
Speaking on the feat, the Director of Caleb Group of Schools, Dr. Ola Adebogun, said the students’ performance had earned global recognition for Nigeria, describing it as a source of pride for the school group and a reflection of the students’ intelligence and rigorous preparation.
