Winning the contract further strengthens TARIL’s order book and reinforces its position in the domestic power transmission equipment market

Transformers and Rectifiers (India) Ltd (TARIL) on Tuesday said it has secured an order worth more than ₹1,000 crore from state-run Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL) for the manufacture and supply of transformers of various ratings, along with associated works.The Ahmedabad-headquartered company said the contract will be executed over the next 30 months, in line with the terms and conditions stipulated in the letter of award. TARIL manufactures power, distribution and specialty transformers with capacities ranging from 5 MVA to 1,000 MVA and voltage classes up to 1,200 kV.The order, classified by the company as an “Ultra Mega Order”, is one of TARIL’s largest project wins and comes as India accelerates investments in expanding and modernising its power transmission network to meet rising electricity demand, integrate renewable energy and strengthen grid infrastructure. PGCIL, India’s largest interstate power transmission utility, plays a key role in developing and operating the country’s transmission network. Winning the contract further strengthens TARIL’s order book and reinforces its position in the domestic power transmission equipment market.“This order reflects the trust placed in our manufacturing excellence, technological capabilities and execution expertise,” said Satyen Mamtora, Chairman and Managing Director of TARIL that also serves utilities, EPC contractors and industrial customers across sectors including power transmission, renewable energy, railways, steel and infrastructure.
