The Hellenic Red Cross is sending two teams of volunteer rescuers to earthquake-stricken areas in Venezuela, following a detailed assessment of conditions on the ground and in coordination with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.

The mission aims to support search-and-rescue operations in collapsed buildings and address urgent healthcare needs among affected populations.

According to the organization, each of the two teams consists of seven volunteers equipped with specialized rescue gear, including cutting tools, ropes, drones and trained search-and-rescue dogs (K9 units).

The teams will assist in rescue operations in cooperation with the Venezuelan Red Cross, while also providing first aid and broader humanitarian support to residents impacted by the earthquake.
